Our DAY TREATMENT program provides therapeutic supports to youth who present with social, communication and executive functioning challenges. These challenges may also be known as ADHD, Oppositional Defiance, Conduct disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Autism, TBI, Anxiety or Depression.
The interventions used by our team will reinforce positive behaviors while reducing self-defeating ideologies and maladaptive responses to environmental stimuli by implementing and teaching socially appropriate coping skills.
Our program’s treatment strategies focus on helping individuals learn to:
Being insight oriented and mindful to aggression/anger; Enhance communication, social and interpersonal skills; Use behaviors that align with personal goals and values; Increase skills related to, impulse control, peer relations, and problem solving; Improve community responsibility, and Improve overall psychological well-being.
Therapeutic Day Treatment is a clinic-based program designed to successfully address mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges that create a barrier to effective learning. Crimson Counseling’s functional skills specialist’s facilitate strategic interventions such as emotional recognition, behavioral inhibition, experiential teaching and strength based modalities designed to address disruptive behavior immediately without negatively disrupting their natural environments. Effective interventions improve social dynamics and allow individuals to use socially appropriate replacement behaviors in order to access their needs.
An immediate intervention by a functional skills specialist gives the individual the best opportunity to redirect mal-adaptive behavior so he/she can return to learning while protecting the learning environment for their peers.
Our therapeutic day treatment program provides experiential opportunities including individual and/or peer based social skills training, behavior management, crisis intervention, family and psycho-educational interventions. Once the youth has been determined to be eligible for Day Treatment, a diagnostic evaluation is conducted, followed by the development of an individualized treatment plan designed to implement therapeutic training before, during and after their regular school hours, as well as in the home and during holiday and summer breaks.
Therapeutic Day Treatment participants are pre-teens and teens whose serious mental health, behavioral and emotional difficulties have resulted in significant functional impairments in their daily living. These youth are at-risk of removal from their home or school, their ability to handle self-contained or resource classrooms without intensive interventions has been seriously compromised, they have difficulty with interpersonal relationships and require intensive interventions at home and/or in the community.
There are several funding options. Private insurance, Private Pay or Medicaid will fund this service for youth who meet the eligibility criteria for the program.
Crimson Counseling’s day treatment program helps individuals move closer to independence. We partner with accredited academic programs to insure individuals are getting the education required. Crimson Counseling’s day treatment operates Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm.
Our intake specialist will help you determine if our program is the right fit. If the program is determined to be an appropriate placement we will then set up a time to meet and get all the paperwork filled out.
We will then determine the best date to start and work out a schedule that is accommodating for everyone. We will assess the barriers to goals, set up an evaluation and start the treatment planning process.
Once treatment begins, the youth will be on a structured schedule paired one to one with a functional skills specialist. They will work individually on the goals established as well as together in peer based training environments.
